Electronic Hardware Engineer

An exciting opportunity is now available, as we are seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer to our development team.

You will work out of newly acquired Luminell’s offices in Aalesund. The offices are only 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Molde, housing Glamox’ largest facilities, where the success story began as early as 1947.

MAIN TASKS:

  • Development of high-precision switching power supplies of small and medium power, as well as monitoring electronics according to the latest technologies and topologies with increased EMC requirements for LED lighting in the maritime market, including explosion-proof areas, EMC-compliant circuit design and layout
  • Selection of components or assemblies for series production, taking cost and quality requirements into account
  • Implementation of self-developed hardware in prototypes and their commissioning in test circuits and end-product
  • EMC measurements accompanying development, environmental simulations, and approval tests with the environmental laboratory.
  • Error analysis in products and assemblies
  • Close cooperation with purchasing, product management, construction, and production from the product idea to series production
  • Analysis of customer requirements with assessment and development of hardware requirements and product specifications
  • Approval and field tests of new products also on site at our customers
  • Independent implementation and documentation of development processes, tests accompanying development and creation of documentation accompanying the product
  • The support and coordination with manufacturing partners, external development service providers and approval authorities are also part of your tasks

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree (preferably Master’s) in electrical engineering, engineering or similar with additional professionality
  • At least 5 years of experience with development of electronic systems for multi-disciplinary systems, ideally lighting systems for maritime markets
  • Experience in system design, automation, communication concepts (DALI, ModBus etc.)
  • Knowledge of at least two of the following areas: system engineering, light control, PLC, smart automation, communication
  • Excellent communication skills, with both technical and non-technical colleagues

  • To succeed you will need great analytical skills, thorough and systematic
