The "Express Interest" button gives more candidates.

Imagine you need to reach the civil engineer Kari, 37, who is sitting on the tram. She is on her way to an important work meeting but is using her travel time to read the latest news and check her social media. She then comes across an ad for a very exciting job. Kari is still not an active job seeker, so she is not ready to submit an application, but she sees an “Express Interest” button and chooses to enter her email address.

Over 50% of interested candidates are worth following up

When a passive candidate is presented with a job opening via social media or other websites, the threshold for applying must be low. They might be sitting on the tram or in an open office space, and the prospect of writing a long application and reaching out to potential references could scare them away. With the “Express Interest” button, they can signal their interest with a simple click by submitting their email address, making it easy for them to be followed up. This turns a passive candidate into an active one in just a few seconds.

The recruitment company Hyr collaborates with Frantz and has had good experiences with the “Express Interest” button on their campaign pages. They have used this feature in several job campaigns.

Our experience is that more than half of those who show interest are worth following up. This gives both us and our client an advantage when it comes to reaching the most attractive candidates. Many of the final candidates for positions have been among those who have used the “Express Interest” button, says Ramona Nesshaug, recruitment advisor at Hyr.

The “Express Interest” button is so low-threshold that even a small, emerging thought of changing jobs can lead to exactly that. It also gives the candidate control over the process moving forward, as it’s just a matter of sending their email address.

The “Express Interest” button provides passive candidates with quick access to a potential position. We see that this solution is becoming increasingly important and delivers very good results for our clients who are looking for top talent that may not necessarily be actively seeking a new job, says Tore Hjerde, Data & Analytics Manager at Frantz.
